Ilaria Mancia

Ilaria Mancia is a curator, organizer and dramaturg of performing arts.

Graduated in Philosophy (Aesthetics), at Bologna University, she obtained the Master degree in Performing arts science and techniques from University of Parma.

From late 2019 to the present, she has been curator, in charge of training projects, production residencies and performance events at the Mattatoio di Roma - Azienda Speciale Palaexpo. In this context, since 2020, she conceived and curated Prender-si cura, a project of artistic research and production residencies, which reached its third edition in 2022; she curated the Master PACS - Performing Arts and Community Spaces 2020-21, in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture of Roma Tre University, and the Master MAP_PA- Performing Arts 2022, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome.

In summer 2020 she curated “Gaia-Thirst”, and, in the summer 2021 and spring-summer 2022, “re- creatures”, public programming including video and environmental installations, performances, concerts, workshops, talks, in the indoor and outdoor spaces of the former slaughterhouse (Mattatoio) in Roma: among the participating artists: Simone Aughterlony, Roberto Fassone, Invernomuto, Pierre Huyghe, Valentina Furian, Riccardo Benassi, Alessandro Sciarroni, Ra di Martino, Muna Mussie, Tim Etchells, Kate McIntosh, Alterazionivideo.

In 2020 she curated at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, within the exhibition "Jim Dine" the public program 4 PERFORMANCE, cancelled for covid and transformed into the online project 4 PERFORMANCE RELOAD.

She has worked, as a dramaturg, organizer and producer, with different artists and theatre-dance companies such as Big Art Group (USA), Agrupacion Senor Serrano (ES), Motus (IT), OHT-Office for a Human Theatre (IT), Cristina Kristal Rizzo (IT), Muta Imago (IT), and in different international festivals of performing arts, among others, Santarcangelo Festival, Inteatro Festival- Polverigi (AN) and Teatro delle Briciole- Parma.
